30th October was the 4th Kent wide conference for registered managers in the care sector. Here you will find all the speaker and workshop presentations and date of the April 2020 event.

A big thank-you to everyone who attended our 4th Care Conference making it a very busy but enjoyable day.

The day was opened by Penny Southern, KCC Corporate Director of Adult Social Care & Health and was followed by a Q&A panel with CQC, Skills for Care, the National Care Forum, KICA, KCC and Kent & Medway STP.

Vic Rayner, Executive Director of the The National Care Forum provided an update on key themes for social care and was followed by Neil Eastwood, founder of Sticky People who gave feedback on the Care worker Recruitment app. trials in Devon.

Time was provided for viewing the 35 stands before the first 4 workshops – How to Record Evidence Outstandingly, Reducing Medication Errors, Neurodiversity in Autism and a Demnentia Friends session.

Following a networking lunch a further 4 workshops offered Nursing Associates in Social Care, Improving Staff Efficiency & Moral, Oral Care Workshop and How to Achieve Outstanding.

The afternoon speaker session included Sophie Coulthard from the Judgement Index, highlighting  5 Steps to make your value-based recruitment go further, follwed by Rhona and Alison from No Place Like Home providing their experience of activities leading to an Outstanding rating. CQC closed the event by giving an update on Kents latest data results and CQC’s new publications.
